Bio

Michelle Fleming has been a school counselor for over 26 years at North Central High School. She has said, "It has been such a blessing to work with students of various demographic and social backgrounds. Being at such a large and diverse school has given me the opportunity to appreciate the value of all students as they mature in their various stages of adolescence to adulthood." Over the years, Michelle's students have taught her invaluable lessons about perseverance, gratitude, and determination! She would be remised if she did not mention her counseling team. Michelle Fleming considers them family and wouldn't have lasted this long without their love and support!

Over the years, she has had many experiences. Michelle has been a co-sponsor of an all-female group called Ladies First for 26 years. Ladies First seeks to educate, elevate and empower young women. In the past, they have hosted fashion shows and sent the proceeds to both the Julian Center and Coburn Place to support women and families of domestic violence. Michelle has served as the liaison for the Future Promises Program for teen pregnant and parenting students. She also supports the A.V.I.D. program as the A.V.I.D. counselor liaison. Plus, Michelle is heavily involved in WTEA. Most recently, Michelle has had the opportunity to work with the C.R.E.S.T. Program at IU Indy.

Michelle is the proud mother of a 20-year-old son and an 18-year-old daughter!  In her free time, she loves to dance, walk, and spend time with family and friends!
