The IU School of Education in Indianapolis (SoE) is committed to preparing you with the knowledge and skills to make a difference - even if you didn't begin your academic career in education.
We know that not everyone follows the same path to a career in education, which is why we've created transition programs that help you achieve your goal of becoming a teacher - regardless of your background.
We offer two graduate alternative certification programs in Elementary and Secondary Education. The programs are the following: Aspiring Teacher Alternative Certification program (ATAC) or the District-Based Alternative Certification program (DBAC). Coursework in the ATAC or DBAC programs can be applied to a Master's degree in Elementary or Secondary Education.
