How to apply
Admission to the Urban Education Studies doctoral program is competitive and requires faculty approval. Admission is based on an applicant's qualifications, submitted application materials (including official transcripts), a personal interview, and references. Additionally, the IU School of Education in Indianapolis will follow the standard policies and procedures of the IU Indianapolis Graduate Office.
A master's degree is required for admission to the program. If you are enrolled in a master's program at the time you apply but have not yet completed the program, you must do so before you begin urban education studies doctoral course work.

Submit your application materials by July 1 for priority consideration. Applications will be accepted until the cohort is full.

We will contact you if any additional information is required. Completed applications will be reviewed by the Admissions Committee after the priority application deadline.
Note: In some cases, the committee may request to schedule an interview, prior to making an admission decision.
