The IU School of Education in Indianapolis offers a breadth of graduate programs for a wide range of career goals and interests—whether you're a teacher seeking expertise in a specialty, or you wish to move into administration. Admission requirements differ for each program, so be sure to refer to the specific program you're interested in for complete information.

Priority application deadlines

  • May 1 (fall)
  • November 1 (spring)
  • March 1 (summer)

Graduate testing requirements

The GRE is not required for admission to any of the School of Education graduate programs. Applicants will be considered for admission based on a holistic review of their application materials, including academic background, professional experiences, reference letters, and other relevant qualifications.

What to expect after you apply

You will receive an email confirmation after you submit your application. The notification will be sent to the email address that you included in your application. We will contact you if any additional information is required. Completed applications will be reviewed by the Admissions Committee after the priority application deadline.

Note: In some cases, the committee may request to schedule an interview, prior to making an admission decision.
